Amani grew up in a conservative family. After her marriage she was a positive person who tolerated and endured a great deal. She tried to discover herself and get out of the frame of a housewife who spent all her time doing chores in the house, with no ambition or a job outdoors. So she decided to learn sewing, and began to work in this area for years, despite objections from her family, which was comparatively wealthy. Her husband stood by her and gave her moral support.

She then learned how to make perfumed incense, and asked one of the women to sell it for a share in the profits. She also joined courses in strategic planning, office management and training of trainers.

She then started to train other women to make incense in an educational centre. She decided to open her own institution with her partners to train and qualify women, despite the difficulties she faced. Many girls attended courses in her group such as making incense and sewing, making pastries and confectionary sweets, and first aid. She charged only symbolic fees. She also opened a sewing and dressmaking shop where trainees work to earn a living.
