As part of the activity (spaces) organized Basement , held two public debates on Saturday evening, June 22, 2019, presented by a group of young people who received in earlier stages of the project training on the skills of the debate provided by the trainer Amani al-Habashi, and a training on body language and speech delivered by the trainer Basma al-Qudsi. Training in research skills provided by trainer Abdo Salem.
The second debate was entitled “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Yemen: With or Against?”
The first group defended the importance of protecting the intellectual and material rights of innovators and creators and not using their products without paying the price they deserve. The other team defended the necessity of taking into account the economic situation in Yemen, the difficulty of following these rights, and the right of poor peoples to use the global knowledge and intellectual product free of charge.
