The topic is considers one of the controversial issues in Yemen and maybe worldwide. Though the importance of this phenomenon but not well-covered by the Arabic language contents on the Internet.

Thesis was suggested using the recommendation method after a side discussion by Mr. Nabeel Kacem and Abdul-Kareem Qassem. Noting that the generation gap is clear and many debates are taking place between each generation therefore the importance of topic was cited by intellectuals visiting the Basement.

Articles: both thesis and antithesis articles were written and published on social media, Mr. Abdo Salem Al-Awbathani has wrote an article about the generation gap noting the idea that the new generation is much open generation and more capable to learn new things and ideas. Mr. Nabeel Al-Awdi is citing that the new generation is less enthusiastic about learning and towards healthy habits like sports and healthy food.

            Flashes: Topic’s video had shown the contrast between the newer and the old generation. Comparing between old and new lifestyles and which of them are better.

            Event: On Saturday, January 27, 2018, at the Basemant Cultural Foundation, a debate was held entitled: “Did the development  of life in Yemen help produce a better generation?”

The two groups, each adopting a different viewpoint, took part in the debate. The group was supported by the young student Hanan Abdul Salam, the media student Shehab Jamal, the plastic artist and writer Nabil Kassem who defended the new generation, To be better.

While the opposition group, represented by journalist and thinker Abdalbari Taher, architect Yassine Ghaleb and journalist Mohammed Al-Salawi, adopted the old generation in which human values ​​were firmly established, and resisted the difficult circumstances of the past, which were more open and liberal.

(Spaces) is a project organized by the Bisment Cultural Foundation in which it selects a topic of interest to the society. It deals with different points of view through press articles dealing with the two sides of the subject. A technical or media work is carried out to clarify the idea to the public. Which will be followed by a public debate at the end of the program, in which participants will present their views and arguments to the public.

The event was attended by an audience of more than 200-300people, most of whom were young people. The audience took part in a series of commentaries on the different viewpoints in the public debate conducted by Abdulsalam Al-Shuraihi.
