Today in the city of Taiz, the sessions of the “Taiz Youth Dialogue Salon” were launched. Implemented by the Basement Cultural Foundation in partnership with the German Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (Yemen Office) and in coordination with the Taiz Governorate Office of Youth and Sports, the initiative aims to provide a platform for young people to discuss political and social issues while fostering a culture of dialogue and conscious civic engagement.

The launch featured two dialogue sessions:

• Session 1: “Local Governance and Decentralization: Opportunities and Challenges of Enhancing Community Engagement”

• Session 2: “Youth Between Participation and Public Policymaking: From Symbolic Presence to Real Impact”

These sessions are part of a six-part series addressing youth issues, political participation, and public life. The project seeks to encourage open debate, facilitate the exchange of perspectives, and amplify youth involvement in public affairs.
